Do I need a new tire after a flat?

My personal record is 3 mushroom plugs in one rear tire. That tire was cursed.
I always remove the tire.......sand the area on the inside where the hole is, and patch with mushroom plugs from the princess. I've done close to 10. Never had a leak or failure *knocking on wood*.
What are these mushroom plugs everyone is talking about, I haven't seen one. Can you please share a link?
The kit we used to fix the flat was the bacon strip types.

Take tire off. Clean/rough up surface. Pull off plastic and/or add glue around hole. Use mushroom stump to pull patch tight to tire (patch inside, stem towards outside). Press mushroom cap tight. Cut off stem. Remount tire.

I think I've had a rear with at least 2 spots with string patches last the rest of the life of the tire. They were half used by the time the patches went in.

Couple weeks ago, my wheelbarrow tire needed a new tube. That f'n thing put up more of a fight than any motorcycle tire I've swapped.....no lie.
Yup. Easier to just buy a new wheelbarrow.

You can buy a flat free wheelbarrow tire from Amazon they are solid and much better.

I got one of those from somewhere a few years ago when I was sick of replacing my tire due to sun damage and age. The wheel barrow is almost 40 year old, so it's gone through a few, and is also in need of a new bucket/tray. Once that's replaced, only the legs and braces will be original. Anyway, my point was that those solid/filled tires are a bit smaller than the air-filled (or at least the one I bought was), which makes it a bit harder to push.

Foam filled are a little harder to push than pneumatic but the same size. Foam is worth it for me. Pneumatic always seems to have a flat when you need it. Foam stays ready to go for a decade or longer (keep it out of the sum when stored). I havent used a solid tire on a wheelbarrow in decades (thing rubber ring around steel wheel).

When’s the last time anyone used just a steel wheel lol

I've changed / fixed a few wheelbarrow tires and they are a complete PITA. Save yourself from endless headaches, or drinking to excess, and buy one of those foam / airless tires.
