Do all Sportbike riders...

There are people who purposefully drive 80-90 in the HOV lane when traffic is light, and well below that when it's heavy.
Sitting in the left lane and leaving a gap of 10+ seconds isn't nice.

Can't blame them for not blitzing the HOV when traffic to the right is stopped. Plenty of impatient commuters in their 4,000lbs SUVs try to swerve into the lane.

I would be slowing down. This decision saved me from being launched into the atmosphere when a similar event happened to me.

Agree. Without a physical barrier, closing speeds much over 40 km/h are basically hope and pray for the best. Even at 40, you will probably hit the moron but it will just be some bent metal not a kablammo.

I also agree, to a point. I was trying to figure out how to word it. Some will creep along beside someone in the clogged lanes, when there's two kilometres of space ahead. You don't need to have a huge delta v, but you should be going somewhat faster than the other traffic, otherwise, there's no point in being in the free lane. Each person has their own speed and speed differential to which they can react. If yours is so low that you're not passing, than the time savings will make no difference to you, and will hold up others.

tldr: There's a sweet spot for how much faster you can go, and it varies between individuals.

So, if the traffic is light why be in the HOV lane? Perhaps because you have 4 people on board? It's not the hammer lane, that was my point. Having said that, if you're in the HOV and traffic is light you should be doing 100, not 80, 85, 90. If you want to drive slow use the right hand lane. But...if you're one of those hypertensive dorks who wants to do 140 and you're mad because granny is in your way doing 100 in the HOV it would be my pleasure to see you get the ticket you deserve when you get obnoxious.

So if you are speeding in the hov, it's better? What?
Yes, of course. Average speed on any 400 series is probably 120km/h. If you're doing 130km/h then you have deviated from the average by 10km/h and are holding up no one behind you. If you are doing 100km/h then you deviate from the average by 20km/h and are holding up everyone behind you. At 100km/h you are the danger on the road.

Hmmm..

Seems the entitlement would swing both ways then.

As I said, in my mind there are many reasons to want to stay in the HOV. As long as you're going 100 I could care less.

You just argue for the sake of arguing. Why am I surprised someone who calls themselves "the god" is kind of a **** all the time on this forum.

Thanks for the laugh.

What's the problem with this video?
Right from the start:
Camera car, wrong lane.
White van, wrong lane.
Several cars further ahead, wrong lane.
Black truck, no need to be in the HOV lane with the traffic density.
First bike, no lane.
Second bike, wrong track, passing on the right.
Second black truck, wrong lane.
Third bike, passing on the right, didn't signal lane changes, or even look.
Grey minivan, wrong lane.
