Not saying all men are going to cheat. What I'm asking, is whether having a suitably attractive wife would stop men from cheating. And I highly doubt it. Men who are gonna cheat will cheat. To somehow imply its the wifes fault for not staying young and hot is pretty unfair.
 
^ Isn't that the goal? I don't cheat, but that's mostly because I make sure that whoever I'm dating is attractive enough for me to not even consider it. If you settle and you KNOW you're settling, you'll always want better. It doesn't just apply to men, 'cause girls do it just as much: why commit if you have better options?

& I also find the second part of your statement interesting. While it might be unfair when they're aging, how about if she were younger? I see so many girls let go as soon as they find a man...then they wonder why he leaves. If you can't maintain the baseline physical attraction, the mental isn't always enough to hold it. And I'm not implying that it's all about looks, either - but after a certain point of getting too comfortable, people start looking (or rationalizing) for ways out - why give them that reason?
 
Don't get me wrong - my wife and I have openly told each other not to let ourselves go as we age. We're both fairly vain about our looks and bodies, and don't want to get lazy and put on weight just because we're comfortable. 10 years in, and we're still two of the slimmest people I know. But that doesn't mean that I have an excuse to look elsewhere if she gains a few pounds, and then blame it on her.

If physical attraction has become an issue in a relationship, have a conversation about it. Or get a divorce and bang whomever you like. If anyone is 'settling' in their choice of partner decides to stray, again, then that's not the other person's fault. Be sure before making the ultimate commitment.

Yep, this was my point. I highly doubt she was attractive when young, I mean look at her facial features, that has nothing to do with age or even weight. It certainly looks to me like the guy married for political/financial reasons and was NEVER that physically attracted to her in the first place. His mistress looks NOTHING like his wife even if she dropped some pounds and made herself up. The guy obviously cares about looks cause his mistress is good looking and I'm guessing the wife wasn't cutting it physically.

I get your point though. Plenty of guys with hot wives cheat. They do it for the excitement, boredom, etc.
