Difficulty of Chain / Sprocket replacement.

Since I toasted 24 (8 at a time) of those f'n barrina lights in my garage, I thought I'd give one of these a go. It's about as bright as 5 or 6 barrinas. Lifespan?
I just got back from peavey mart.....only 2 jugs of T6 were left, so I got 'em.

So weird. All my barrinas still work. I have the costco version of the flower light in the garage too. It is on the main switch so it is on a lot more than the barrinas. So far so good. Not as bright but it doesnt need to be where it is installed.

That is a good question. I think I was using 10W-40 before as I couldn’t find the 10-30 and just stuck with it.

Then for some reason I put in 10-50. I’ll move back to 10-40 at the end of the season the that oil change.

I think the Honda engine is pretty unstressed relative to some, but you're not doing it any favours by running 50 weight oil in it.

I don't know if this was a factor but some folks confuse an oil viscosity chart with oil suitability. Just because 10w-30 oil fits within the temperature parameters of 10w-50 doesn't mean 10w-50 is a suitable oil for your bike.

I have to replace my chain today and need to borrow the chain breaker tool as my new chain has a rivet type and not a clip type master link.

Where do you live? Do you have an angle grinder or is that what you are looking to borrow?

I'm in downtown Toronto. I need to do a quick grind to remove the old chain and then put the new DID on. I have the chain and the connector link but it is the rivet variety and not the clip type so I need to crush the ends to a mushroom cap using the chain tool.

I think I have what you are asking for. If it’s the one in the pic below, you are welcome to borrow mine, but I’m in Mississauga.

Since this thread is active I have two more questions:
1. How/what do you use to clean off the muck/old grease off the bike?
2. I’m sorry in advance….I’m an idiot and only bought 2L of 10w50 oil….now I can’t find Lucas 10w50. Will my motor be messed if I toss in 1L of 10w40 (same or diff brand) as that is much easier to find.
Clean the new chain with kerosene before installing it as it'll be coated in grease in the package and make a terrible mess on the bike if you don't.

Rotella guys - $39 every day on Amazon and arrives in 2 days (arrived next day last time I ordered last month)

LED Flower light or whatever you call them - $29 with $10 coupon applied for a 2-pack. I have 4 of them for lighting in my 28x44' garage and they light it up beautifully.

NO NO NO NO DON'T WASH THE CHAIN
The chain comes from the factory with lube behind the Orings and a solvent will wash it away (because the solvent has a much lower viscosity and can get past the Orings, thinning the grease, allowing it to get by the Oring.)

If you think the chain has too much lube on it, feel free to wipe it off, just don't use a solvent.
