This buddy might be me (Do I know you TheNewDude?) I lost mine off of my blue SV going from Oakville to Toronto on the 403/Gardiner. Would likely still have a rubberized webbing attached to it if it's mine. Though it would have been out there for the better part of a month by now.

Yeah it does snap on, but if you pulled something from your trunk and then got distracted by someone talking to you, you can sometimes forget to push it down enough to click it in. At a glance it looks like it's solid, but will fall off from bumps and wind at speed. That's what happened to me at least.
