Did everyone take the rider training course?

That's how it use to be, but the insurance industry doesn't seem to care anymore neither does the government if you've taken an approved course.

That's what I gathered from my research. I am just trying to update those still thinking/ giving false info to others about insurance companies giving discounts for it.
And if I am wrong, to let me know what company still does it.
I do agree there are benefits for doing the course for sure, no argument there at all. I just have a problem when misinformed about certain points.

I'm with you on this one, what company(s) gives a discount?

Do you see that he said ask your company and they MAY give you a discount. When I did my course they over-hyped the discount BS.. No company that I called gives out freebies. It's a nice way of selling you an idea you can't cash in on, that is all.

Even if a company does gives a discount I doubt it's a significant amount. They care more on how old you are, what bike you're insuring, location, and perhaps the type of license that you have.
OP take the course, take it for what it is, everyone learns something new, share a few stories, make a few friends either way courses like these will be beneficial.

This statement is vastly different from saying that doing the training course gets you credit from insurance companies, which is what I am arguing.
I don't really get why you quoted me, but changed what the point was...
My point is, if there is an insurance company that gives this so called credit for doing the courses, then please share.

Never did I imply it was an absolute, check my comment to the OP. I stated he could end up with a discount. No false information, no wild claims, no over hyping.
