Describe Your BEST Vacation

I was in Sicily two years ago, there is a lot on the menu before you get the the spleen sandwich. Unless thats your thing, then enjoy......
I wasn't a huge fan of it, but I'm generally down to try any local cuisine as long as it isn't a bug or extremely disgusting. It seems like they eat every part of the animal in Sicilia. I also had lamb or goat intestines, I think, but I figured you guys wouldn't want to actually see that :p

I had Paella & tapas here in Spain and I'm not getting what all the hype is about. Definitely tasty, but I wouldn't travel back here just for Paella like I would for pizza in Napoli

paella is the national dish, depending on which area your getting it , it awesome or just ok. Little extra saffron goes a long way.
Tapas is a great way to enjoy "little plates" and haver lots of variety while getting loaded on really good 3euro wines, best enjoyed with friends and then more booze.

You have to remember at points in history Sicilia was not a rich area and eating all of an animal was survival, there are many similar areas of southern europe, Offal cooking where you use all the pig, including the oink is gaining ground in N.A. high end kitchens..... ewwww.

Sorry, I frigging love cooking and have eaten my way around 2/3rds of the planet so far

What's your favourite? I'll be sure to keep it in mind when I get there

also, if anyone wants more pictures, let me know. I've been to Spain, France, Monaco, Netherlands, Belgium, and Germany since the last time I posted pics

If I was getting dinner in Sicily I'd look for the braciolle (sp?) , its a scallopini cutlet ( i cheat by taking pork tenderloin and flattening it with a mallet) , take the flattened cutlet and stuff with olives and capers, roll up and place on charcoal grill (or whatever grill you have) till done. Take diced onion and heat till translucent and put in handfull of diced tomato and heat slowly, little salt/pepper.
Plate the braciolle de Imbottite (the cutlet roll) and top with tomato/onion mixture.
