That one is interesting. A $131 donation from a private citizen. Apparently he's been around a long time and well known, but is there a database they can easily run donor lists through? DS wouldn't have seen, reviewed and signed off on the donor list in sufficient detail to know about such a trivial donation. He is returning the money. Ejection seems excessive for that particular oversight.
This is 100% using the donation as an excuse to kick him out. Can't say I'm super upset about it though
As much as I think the Con's chose someone that doesn't have a chance of beating JT, they could have made a worse choice.
I wonder what dirty laundry would come out if everyone had their RRSP / RIFF portfolio's examined. What unethical company do you have a share in? Mutual fund mysteries.

I have an Israeli defence contractor that makes military drones. I have owned them since ~2008. It's up ~200% over that period. The rest of the investments are just normal financial crookery that free people from their money.
I'm with you, this was a hit, DS just missed that he left a bullet sitting on the table. No idea if he deserved the hit or not.
DS is following the conservative tradition of doing everything possible to make the party toxic so they manage to lose an election that should be a gift. He is saying they all know Fromm is a conservative party member and he voted in the leadership election. If they are going to call DS out, he will make sure they all drown with him. Morons. All of them.

The donation is just the smoke... somewhere there is a fire.
I suspect Sloan has some 'too strong' right wing ideologies and connections -- something bigger than a $130 donation is at the root of this. Personally I prefer leaders who toss aside bad guys as soon as possible AND before they get into a position that has great costs to the people.

this guy's been a problem child for a while now for the conservatives
This has to do with the recent events in washington and their trump-lite messaging and flirtations
Innuendos about trudeau 'stealing elections'(pages that were conspicuously deleted recently)....certain high ranking MPs from manitoba being a little too maga happy
The media asking questions, and the cons scrambling to clean house and tie up loose ends in an effort to save any aspirations of winning an election in the near future
Followed recently by a sudden more progressive messaging from the O toole about 'inclusivity' etc to counter any aspersions that may have been cast
They've been doing this for years by the way, maybe they realized this time it might cost them more

Better today than doing it after discovering he’s taken free trips, got daughters and bosses wife and mother employed and handed out multi million dollar intern deed contracts to a connected organization.

Have a similar neighbour, (sells coke and gambling, not sex). He drives a C7 and a SRT8 Jeep as a winter beater.

You're in the right business, just not in a position to benefit hugely from the graft. BC Hydro was granted 171 million in sole-sourced contracts for Site C as gov't didn't want too much documentation of the f up that was happening.

I heard that site was a disaster in every possible way. Worked with a lot of people that escaped from there....only to have those same managers come to our site.
Lots of reasons to give this guy the boot, should have happened a long time ago, a $131 donation is the dumbest possible excuse. Lots of people in all aspects of politics have received some small money donation from bad actors at some point and likely didn't even know. Is it even possible to check all these small dollar donations?
Hopefully O'Toole went over his list with a fine tooth comb before pulling the trigger!
