Demo Rides?

Anyone know if the manufactures are done this year with their demo days. I haven't heard of anything lately!

Cheers
Gotta keep your eye open in the beginning of the season, don`t think there will be anymore this year but I could be wrong.

check high rise condo parking in mississauga.

I hear those bikes are available for test rides.

Last i dropped by a Honda dealer asking if they'll be having a demo day anytime soon. They replied, demos are done for the rest of year But at anytime you can call or drop by the dealer to book a test ride any bike.

Hello everyone.

I'm a new rider in York Region, with a new bike (2010 Suzuki M50).

While there may be threads going about the subject already, can anyone help me find out (or point me in the right direction) when dealers in the York Region/GTA plan to have their Spring Ride Days? Is it just a matter of contacting those that you're interested in or is there a calendar/source somewhere that might list them all in one place?

While I'm still enjoying my Suzuki, I have my eye on something a bit bigger already.

Thank you for your help.

Thank you for your reply. I'm still getting used to posting.

I should have said earlier that I'm looking for something a bit bigger from some of the other manufacturers, like BMW, Yamaha and Honda.

Keep checking the manufactures & local dealers websites for dates & times. They won't be posting anything yet.

Some manufactures/dealers (Honda powershouse dealers, BMW?) offer test rides all the time, check the their website or call them.

Does Suzuki still offer rides out of their Richmond Hill location? or has that been squashed.

I too feel the need for a test ride, as I have entered - hopefully a long and protracted shopping period - for a new bike. This year's targets are The Triumph Tigers (800 / 1050, aka kitties), Ducati Multstrada and BMW R1200RT and possibly GS. My Trohpy was the result of a test ride - 4 or 5 years before I bought it.

Best recommendations from my viewpoint are check the websites, and talk to the dealers. They will know, or let you know when they find out, when test rides are. Some dealers also have more liberal test ride policies than others, but that could depend on how long you've been dealing with them and how serious you are.

I hope you don't mind me asking, but with your exisiting Triumph Trophy 900 and with you looking at the Triumph Tigers and the Ducati Multistrada, wouldn't the R1200 GS be the best option from BMW, rather than the R1200RT?

For selfish reasons, I have my eyes on the R1200 GS and am having a lot of problems finding fault with that choice.

The R1200GS is another on the list - I got lazy typing. Historically I thought I needed the extra weather protection of the R1200RT - and I find it a very comfortable bike, but have not rode one yet. I rode a R1200GS last year, doing about 2,000 km with a passenger around the Grand Canyon. Nice bike, but I found little grunt under 3,000 rpm, and vibrations above 5,000. Maybe it is more that it didn't blow me away as a step up from the Trophy. A much narrower powerband than I am used to as the Trophy pulls from 2,000 up to 9,500, taking off like a demon one I hit 5,000. I had another GS for a weekend and was more impressed, so it may have been this particular GS I was riding. After all, it was a rental, and I was riding two up, while I do most of my riding solo.

We also had weather from 0°C with hail, snow and thunder accompanying slush on the road to 34°C in hot sun. It (1200GS) was not as cold as I expected, considering it doesn't have a full fairing. Part of that could have been the heated grips, which go along way to keeping one warm. I installed them on the Trophy last year, and am convinced I will not buy another bike without them. Combined with the odd dirt/gravel road that I would like to travel, I am starting to wonder about moving away from the RT to more of an adventure sport. I do like the upright seating position. I am also thinking that although I can push the Trophy around now, at 525 lbs. or so, do I really want anything heavier than that 10 years down the road?

So, the plan this year is lots of research, do some test rides, and see what I think after some saddle time.

As a new rider with a new bike, your advice and comments were sincerely appreciated. Rather than rush into anything, I plan to follow the same path (lots more research and some test rides) before making a decision.
