Deck contractor question in regards to job and pay?

Yes it is! I believe its about 20 feet from the fence. Plus I have no neighbours behind me, just a big pond!

I tried to PM you but your box is full - do you live around Harwood & Williamson? Some of your comments / pix make me think we may be neighbours.

The contractor got paid for the job quoted. I wouldn't have paid more, the quote is the quote. It took him more days than he quoted, but probably the equivalent # of hours. I'd never paid more than the quote, sometimes less if they take much longer than quoted or somehow less than expected from the quoted quality of work, product, etc.

No im just south of rossland off Salem! We could still go for a ride though! i will clear my box up!

Well the neighbour on my right is super cool and has already been over for beers, he has no issues! The other side doesnt seem to mind and is gonna have a deck built by the same guy more then likely.
there are alot of decks on my same block that are even bigger then mine.

Deck looks good and it at least came in on budget. The clear panels are a nice touch. Are they tempered glass or plexi?

Ya I mean with material and labour and some of the deals I scored from Rona, im looking at around $5500 I spent.

Thanks man! There tempered glass. I just have such a nice view, I didnt wanna be looking through the black ballusters or even the wood ones.
 
Congrats , you got a nice deck at a decent price. Getting work done is real trouble. I have been chasing the company that did our landscaping last summer to rebuild the flagstone stairs in our garden. Still no takers for it. So if anyone has had stairs done and are happy please let me know.

Ya i mean he did have some worth rthic issues, but it got done. I think he quoted too low, i mean hickory wanted like 25 grand, yes 25 grand too build the same one!
For your steps check kijiji, there are some good guys out there

There work is top notch, i heard they pre cut alot of pieces before they even get to the job as well, but i kid you not, 25k!!!
