this be why my mmj stocks tanked today
Probably not. Most others in the sector are up.
+1 agree entirely. Once again they do what they want instead of what we want.Personally, I don't care that much.. as I've said... I will never buy my weed from the government or pay a cent of tax on it...
But, I think this will fail. I think they missed the mark with their antiqued ideas... and I don't think anyone making these decisions understands the weed industry at all.
Over 19 only... "for the safety of kids". Young folks will continue to smoke weed regardless... So, they think it's safer for those kids to have to continue to buy from illegal dealers with "no quality controls".
No edibles, etc.... again... missing the mark.
The "black market" will continue to thrive.
...and who gets to pay for the costly failures....the tax payer.half hearted measures tend to yield costly failures.
Not quite sure how they managed to botch the legalization plans as bad as they did. Everything was basically laid out for them and they chose a ridiculous path that won't last long at all.

So the only places you will be able to get mmj is from the government? The only way you will get rid of the black market is by having competition. The black market will continue to prosper...
I heard a funny story today. There's a medical centre focused on cannabis here in the GTA, they don't sell it or have any in the building etc. I guess they have a storefront sign that has the word "cannabis" on it. Signs been up for a couple months now but the other day, the city's police chief paid them a visit insisting they take the sign down because of the word "cannabis". First off, isn't that what bylaw departments are for?...the police chief visited the place. How is this real?...Secondly, as far as I know it is not illegal to have a sign that says cannabis on it?...lol
ON gets the government it deserves and voted for. Thankfully some other provinces appear to be leaving distribution and sale to private operations and not going for a government monopoly of all things.
