Dear Podcasters (rant)

Those of you that are in the habit of creating podcasts, please learn how to !
Don't take 45 minutes to say what can be said in 10. It's sloppy and lazy.
There are some folks that do a terrific job - Itchy Boots, Adri and Fortnine Ryan for instance (whether you agree with them or not).
Most of the rest are like my parents home movies from the 1960s.

Not particularly aimed at anyone here, just ranting in general.

Tried to watch itchy today on YouTube. Somewhere in India after she broke her hand. I'm glad I had an alarm set. Do people watch because her soothing voice relaxes them? I'm still half asleep. Can't do that.

Sounds like you're talking more YouTube channels than podcasts (at least based on your examples?), but I don't mind longer podcasts if they're entertaining to listen to. I like the Front End Chatter motorcycle podcast, despite episodes regularly hitting 2 hrs, because the hosts know their stuff and are entertaining. One of the greats is Hardcore History, and his episodes are sometimes 5 hrs long...

Not sure about podcasts but my understanding is YouTube rewards longer videos (engagement?) so the YTers are just making noise for longer.
