Deals Gap - post your favorite pix riding The Tail of The Dragon

Ok so here's my couch to most of you guys. But hey, I rode it all the way down through New York, Pennsylvania, Virginia etc and it's comfortable enough to make the trip. I really wanted a bike to ride cross country and see things with so I got this and it hasn't disappointed. Just can't lean as far over as most of you but that's also probably due to the fact that I'm not that good of a rider lol! Been to the Dragon twice now and am fortunate to have friends that live down there and act as tour guides. Next trip is Wyoming in June.

How many days is needed for a trip down there? Let’s say trailering down instead of riding?

I need a hitch on the Volt...lol. $600 nowadays with installation!

It's a 13 hour drive. I've done it by myself. But wouldn't recommend it.
Totally Agree!
I once rode down just to buy a set of hard cases of someone there. Took the highway all the way down and it was a butt numbing experience. I was amazed at how hard it was to stay awake, just droning away on the interstates for hours on end. Never again!

I did the trip to Maggie Valley area in fall of 2019. Limited time, 8 days in total, left Oct 20, trailered, glad we did as it rained all the way down.

Mid to late October too late in the season IMO, planned to go back mid September 2020, but we all know how that worked out. Maybe Sept '22 is a go?

Amazing roads in the area, will return. The ST's are amazing bikes, my 2002 ST got replaced at 139,000 by a Tracer GT, friend sold his with 205,000 km on it and got an FJR
