nope, jump start would be with jumper cables attached to another battery.
bump starting it would be to roll the bike (probably better if someone is pushing it) ... ignition set to ON. first gear. get a little bit of speed, release clutch and as it starts to turn over, add gas, drop clutch and bike should start, ride away.

I'd suggest being in 2nd gear, but that's just me.
 
Kill switch on the handle bar - we've all done it.

this is the off position and your bike will not start.

Or one of your interlocks is fubar ( side stand usually not up fully )

Ah, I've always hated bumping my bike as it was always hard to successfully do on the first try. This is probably why.

I was about to suggest kill switch next. MacDoc beat me to it.

NP - figured it when you said new bike and yes we all have done it from time to time.
Send friends when they need Macs.
 
Check fuse box? Happened once to me where I just took out and put back in the fuse spades (those tiny chips) even though none of them blew.
