Damaged bead. Still any good?

I don't really like tire changers like that because you have to mount them to the floor or to a pallet in order to really torque the mounting/unmounting bar effectively. Plus with the tire changer mounted, it takes up alot of valuable garage space.

I have a Venom bead breaker from Kapsco moto that doesn't take up much space and gives a nice steady platform for you to work your tire levers on. Learning to use tire levers properly isn't a bd skill to acquire and the Venom bead braker definately makes things easier.

Alternatively, the company that makes the no-mar tire changes also makes a trailer hitch mounted changer that seems to work just as well as the floor mounted version but its more compact and its mobile. If I were to seriously in vest in a non-permanent tire changer, that's probably what I'd get.

I was looking at that Venom Bead Breaker, I like the idea. Found them on eBay for about 80 bucks, but wondering if anyone is selling them around here. I suppose you don't wanna sell me yours and get a nomar hitch changer, do you? ;)

I refer you back to the quote you quoted.

They're in pickering.

They also carry the venom balancer.

I think I'm gonna pick up one of these venom bead breakers. Looks like they are good enough to protect the rotors, no need to deal with 2x4s and thinking about ruining good rotors.

As for balancer, I made one based on these instructions, cost me about 10 bucks altogether and seems sufficiently good, sprinkle that with the joy of making something personal: http://www.roadstarmagazine.com/2003/07/build-a-wheel-tire-balancer/

Anyway, just ordered one of these Venom bead breakers from Kapscomoto. If anyone is buying there, they have a 10% discount when you enter coupon code "GTAM10".

Lol, just got my Venom bead breaker, how is it even possible to place the order yesterday and get it today! I'm wow-ed :)

Re the original problem, just because the tire holds air in the shop does that guarantee it will hold under stress? Again an expert needs to see the tire in person.
