Cycle Canada Magazines from the '70s

My cousin reminded me recently that there was an article written up in Cycle Canada about him and his promotion of the new Kawasaki H2 triple 750 that debued in 1972.

He was a few years older than me and I can't recall it specifically but he remembers going out with me to buy a bunch of the magazine editions wherever we could find them. The bike was purchased at Action Kawasaki in Weston in the summer of '72. It was passed down to me in 1974 for $500 but it was beaten up pretty good. Even with noisy piston slap, it was a scary ride for a newly licensed 17 yr old only having the Unsatisfied Judgement insurance coverage that cost me a whopping $50/yr.

If anyone knows of a source for the old Cycle Canada magazines, in paper or on the web, I would appreciate knowing of it.

Check with the Canadian Vintage Motorcycle Group (CVMG), some of their members collect stuff like that.

Try one of the Toronto public libraries. They may have them saved on microfiche or computer files. Some libraries had Cycle Canada periodical subscriptions.

I never understood paying into the unsatisfied judgement fund. The insurance for my RT3 that year was $73. $50 for a pair of dice vs. $73 for insurance was a no-brainer.
