Cutting Your Exhaust Pros & Cons??

That's not always true. All cars/bikes experience a backfire/pop through exhaust but you won't hear it due to the factory muffler and/or catalytic converter.

The reason my Busa is shooting flames is because there is no fiberglass packing to absorb it and I don't have the pair valve plugged which allows fresh air into the exhaust. If I plug the pair valve then I will reduce the popping through the exhaust. So, basically my Busa has a straight exhaust.

Did you Dyno it before and after you cut them?

The backfire is more than likely a pair valve/air leak issue in that it cannot backfire unless there is oxygen in the system. Nothing to do with tuning, good or bad. And I have to say those Akros look pathetic. Sorry. A little TOO short.

I cut mine down on my 99 CBRF4. I dynoed before and after to measure AFR and there was zero difference power and AFR wise. Proof is in the pudding only difference was the look and a slight sound change of less drone.

Your opinion doesn't matter to me nor is it any of my business. As for backfiring, I already know why it does it.

Well it doesn't look like you cut 2/3 of the pipe off either.

Yes, Please make your bike louder so that the entire motorcycling community can looked at in a more disparaging light.

Loud pipes risk rights.

One con is that if you want to sell your bike, modifying the exhaust in your garage will make it less appealing to many of your prospective buyers. If you want to do it right, buy an aftermarket exhaust that suits your needs & as a bonus, keep your stock exhaust system as a spare.

Manufacturer's design them to a certain length for a reason.

Insert? What insert?

I have this and absolutely love it and it's not stupid loud with the insert in.

It looks like a Mega Buster :p

I've always thought downshifting sounded like Mega Man charging his blaster though lol

I think the idea behind the cut pipes on the "BUSA" is to allow someone enough time to look away and avoid losing their sight due to the silly paint job!

When I first rescued my 2000 929RR it had a "custom cut" exhaust.... if you look hard you will see it....I still have it and have thrown it on for the odd hooligan ride! It does sound pretty wild at 12000RPM:D

As for the pros - looks

and the cons - really F#*&ING Loud!
