Cut your own replacement clipon tubes?

No need to paid shipping if you guys can wait. I live 1/2 hr away from them and come back Toronto from time to time. I can even order 200" and bring back 20 bars.

That said, metal price is like gold/silver/dollar. I don't know the exact price until I call them. But it shouldn't be too far off.

Wanna come to TMP on Aug 22? ;) I'll gladly use your help to obtain 60" :) Or just post here when you know when you're coming next (TMP or Toronto, in which case I'll intercept you somewhere on the QEW around Hamilton, haha)

Just called. $195 for 14 10" bars.

you save.... $1.1 !!!!

well I guess not worth the trouble.

20000lbs and metal supermarket, is it a fairytail, you would find snow in the winter up there, scrap yards have more metal then they do.

Uhm, okay. My point was Corsara wants a few feet, and if you were ordering a lot more (ie, if you were a big business for them) they might give a **** to help you.

No. I was initially thinking the bars will end up costing much less, but I was wrong my assumption bare metal is cheap..

I found much cheaper aluminum from metal depot! But they are raw I have to cut it myself. I might be able to get it down to less than $10 per bar depends on how much we are ordering... so lets see a raise of hands and see how many people interested?

Those places are expensive no metter where you buy, try local metal scrap yards, you could be surprised what you find, I fabricated fork compressor, rear stands, tire changers and so on that cost me peanuts compared to buy it new or used or new material to make those tools.

scrap yard is easy if you are fabing stuff that can change design based on available metals. For things with specific dimensions and thickness, (eg: clip-on bars in this case), its a hit or miss.

A friend will check over what they have in the Kitchener store at the end of the week. If that doesn't work out, I'll contact you later. Cheers, and thanks!

Didn't understand how you were having so much trouble with this then I checked mine.. I haven't used them yet but just measured them. they measure .842" with a .112-.115 wall which is 1/2" alum PIPE. My vortex bars measure .870". The ones I made do clamp but .030" is a lot. Next time I place an Alum order I'll check about the tube.

The piece of pipe I bought was enough for 4 bars and I think cost me $15.
