Custom Leather Jacket makers in GTA- Review.

I'm in the market for a biker jacket, the vintage cruiser style, I've been eyeing All Saints jackets as their fitting, leather and looks are quite nice...just price is always in the $600 to $700 range. I stumbled upon this local custom leahter jacket maker and wanted to know if anyone here has had any experience with them, or anyone else in mind in the GTA area. This establishments prices seem really good half of what I would be paying for an All Saints jacket. I also have a few nice All Saints leathers I want to have fitted properly as well.

I have an All Saints jacket, Conroy if I remember right. It's a really nice casual jacket, but wouldn't want to use it on a bike with any protection in mind. Leather is very thin, and I'm sure would disintegrate with the first touch of pavement

Yep I believe it's the Conroy one that I've been eyeing...I know it's a thin leather jacket, but it's more for street wear I'm looking for, and as bad as it seems, in the summer I'm usually riding squid anyways.

Lusso leather themselves don't make the leather jacket or suit. I'm sure they are just middleman. Your measuments goes stright to the factory somewhere in Pakistan. Just like ebay sellers.

Are you sure?
I thought they were one of a handful of places that still make local leather goods.
Friend of mine ex inlaws had a leather biz for years. They shut it down about 10 years ago because they couldn't compete with the Pakistan leather prices.

So just picked up a leather jacket from Lusso Leather.

They are custom made to order from India and Turkey, just like the ones that you pay around $700 Plus from All Saints, Rudsak, John Varvatos and most high end fashion houses . Just here you get it custom cut to your body and design that you want for less than $400.

I bought the one he had as a sample cause it was the leather I liked and the design was great and fit to the T. The fitting just beautiful, broad from the upper body and tapered in by the waist just like the ones from All Saints ( I own 2 from All Saints, both in Suede, Yes I'm a Leather Jacket Junkie!) I would say the fitting may even be bit better, and this was off his rack, I'm sure when I get one made custom it will be better. The guys name is Hannan, he's a straight forward guy will explain everything, stuff he can and cannot do, they even do full racing gear as well for those on SS and doing the track circuit.

Here's a few pics...

Do these jackets have any armour in them though? I don't know if I can wear a jacket without armour in it cause that defeats the whole purpose of a motorcycle jacket.

I don't wear any armour jackets anyways...I do squid in summer ?....but if you want they can make ones with armour in them I believe as they do full race track suites, give him a shout. Also I'm not just buying this a primary riding jacket I wear these and All Saints ones out and about, and on the bike.

He's on Kijiji, says the jackets come with ce armour and can upgrade to titanium. I wonder what price would be without armour? We can always swap in our existing armour as he states it's removable.

Take a look at Vanson Leathers. They supply leather jackets to the California Highway Patrol as well as other law enforcement agencies. They are about an hour drive south of Boston if you want them to custom make one or you can send them your measurements.Ive seen some of their jackets and they are premium quality that is hard to find these days.I think their traditional bike jackets are about $800 US but probably will last a lifetime.

Vanson dealer in Burlington, Motociccletta . about $800 cnd + or - . You'll leave it to your children in your will.

I'm interested in Vanson but I find full leather to be VERY hot. Even in our current temps. Perforated is quite a bit better so I'd be interested in that but almost none of their stuff is perforated and they charge an extra $200 USD on top of the already outrageous price of their stuff for anything custom. Outside my budget even if it'll last forever. I'm pretty convinced even cheaper leather will last forever.

I read somewhere that textile jackets now days are just as good for street use and ventilate better, is that true?

I own a couple textile jackets, they ventilate nearly 100% better as my Bristol and Vanson leather only vents when its unzipped. I dont think all textile jackets are created equal and with some you might as well wear a jean jacket.
