Custom Brake Line in Toronto

I just made a little bracket for my brother to mount a Brembo caliper on his GS. Its a 2 piston opposed caliper and the ratio will end up at about 26:1 which should be a good improvement

He will need to get a custom line made as one of the fittings now needs to be rotated 90 degrees, and its an old rubber hose anyway so its probably crap.

I have used Apex Brake in Scarborough in the past. Are they still around? I can't access the web site. Failing that is there anywhere local that makes and ships custom brakelines?

TIA

I make my own brake hoses. I could show you how to make your own.

Any hydraulic house can make a AN3 hose, tell them it is an oil cooler hose, there's liability issues with brake hoses.

not difficult to make you're own as bitzz said.
Im pretty sure you could find this demonstrated on you tube.
a grinder is used for cutting the braided line (while its wrapped tight with tape to prevent fraying)
if you have a collection of cycle canada magazines there is a "how to" article showing how to do it (1980s lol) best luck

edit - but you will still need a supplier for the hardware bits and lines. the upside is you can get a clean perfect fitting line; measure carefully.

A few years ago I bought a 1986 Honda (a bike from my past) I tried to upgrade the bike but I found putting new pads and calipers still did not give it the the increased stopping power I was looking for. When I put on braided brake lines it made a HUGE difference.
If anyone one here has an older bike and that can even be 10 years old, I can't tell how much of a difference braided brake lines will make.
Myself, I would even change them on a newer bike. A small investment for a lot better stopping power.

Thanks Guys. I normally make them myself but I don't have any fittings around and I don't really want to go to Hose & Fittings and stand around in an enclosed space.

I might just place an order with Earls and let them sit in the garage for 72 hours when they arrive... LOL

check out a company called Brakequip and go to one of their retailers, there are a few in the GTA. No offence to bitzz but most hydraulic houses (I've worked at one for 15 years) know what the hose is for and aren't going to risk it

I got mine at performance improvements. Russell brand...buy the hose and add the end fittings on as needed..lots of options

I am not a big fan of Russell lines on a Japanese bike. The fittings are SAE or imperial thread. IIRC the brake hoses on my car are Russell.

...nice chrome though.

I know you know and you know I know you know. It's all about plausible deniability.
You may have noticed I didn't offer to make OP his brake hose, I offered to teach him how to make them, thereby limiting liability on my part.
