Hey all as some of you know I’m currently in veradero. Was hoping to grab a rental bike here to ride around unfortunately I’ll only be able to get a scooter at the moment but definitely will post some pics of Veradero from my touring around

Nothing wrong with a scooter... Not every vacation has to be an Adventure.

True but more wanted to put some more time into a geared bike. I’m driving my first bike off the lot the day I get back from Cuba. Just gotta hope I can get there before GP closes in the afternoon

Food for thought; Riding your new bike while 'tired' is not ideal.

If you`re pressured for time/not feeling it then just delay. It's not going anywhere.

Don’t worry I’ll be alright I’ve actually been getting a lot of rest on this trip and the flights not very long. It’ll be a wake up around 6:30am get the bike around 4:30pm should be no different than my normal life schedule. Usually I up 6:30am home around 12am but will definitely delay if I feel tired

Sure, but why do it in Cuba? I would stick with a scooter, Keep it simple and still get some riding time.

I'm glad that you're so excited to go get your bike and that you're enjoying a vacation beforehand. Obviously I don't know where you live but 4:30 in the afternoon is right in the WORST part of rush hour out here in the east end and particularly in Whitby and not just on the 401. In addition there's bridge construction going on at Thickson with lane reductions increasing traffic elsewhere as people try to get to and from the GO station and on or off the 401.

If it were me I'd pick it up at 10am or middle of the day, as there's just less traffic and less rush/chaos on the road.

You don't have to listen to me, but as someone who's ridden since 1980 I'd respectfully suggest waiting until the next day.

I arranged my first ride of any new bike to be at the quiet part of the day. Nothing worse than trying to work out why it may have stalled or something else with traffic backed up behind you while you get used to the quirks…and there’s always quirks.

Makes sense though I know my area pretty well I live in Whitby and it’s a straight shot up anderson back to my house. The traffic from school letting out usually dies down by 3:30-4pm so I should be alright. Worst case scenario traffic is heavy I pull off and chill till it gets a little better

Riding a scooter in varadero is one of the most dangerous things you can do . Most tour guides tell you to don’t do it. I did and I’m fine but accidents are hourly . Cubans drive Brampton style . Please be careful and wear the 70s football helmet they loan you .

Don’t worry no chance I get in an accident……they wouldn’t rent one to me I was too young lmaoooooo

Good food and Cuba don't always go hand in hand. More common is bum to toilet.. LOL
But, I am glad to see you are enjoying the trip and the food!

Too funny...

I can barely manage driving my truck in Brampton traffic so I can't imagine what it's like to drive my bike there.

Word out on this morning's news that Brampton residents pay the highest insurance premiums in Canada.... geez I wonder why ?

Been to Cuba 3 times now, and have happily had zero issues with the food. It's bland 100%, but now I figured out that I can bring my own spices and sauces in order to make it better.

Cuba is the only all inclusive destination where I lose weight.
