Crystal skull vodka

They sell it for $50 down here in the states. They have mini ones too though.

On a side note, can anyone recommend a good tequila? I love the stuff and I want to bring back an authentic mexican one and Patron, I was told, is not.

FYI,

I heard thru the grapevine they will be changing the bottle design. Those that are looking to collect this type of bottle should be on it ..

Casa Noble Anejo. It comes in a short square opaque bottle.

Vodka is, as it says on the label, a "neutral spirit." There's no aging involved. No oak barrels. But then I am reminded that good branding counts in this world. The brand imagery, billions of dollars, and hype surrounding Grey Goose, Absolut, Ketel One, and of course even Trump Vodka, have all created very definite preferences for something that is meant to be odorless, colorless, and tasteless. If Perrier and Dasani can do it, why not vodka?

When I was in SoCal, had friends who were Mexican. They all drank Jose Cuervo Silver - said it is authentic Mexican Tequila. Patron was pretty much scoffed at and laughed at by them. Same with Corona, only tourists drink that, to them it was swill.

You don't know Vodka. Who says tasteless or odorless? People that drink Smirnoff or Absolute and call it Vodka. Start drinking it and trying a few different brands and you'll find big differences in quality. You want something to mix with, go ahead and get whatever you want, but if you want to enjoy the Vodka itself, you need to find a good quality brand you like, and perhaps a few pickles. Of course don't be afraid of the ones you can't read or pronounce, lol.

And the "hype" for Grey Goose is bull, thats for sure. I tried and it's certainly not for me. Last night while buying a cool skull shaped bottle, I noticed that Grey Goose jumped the shark big time by creating flavored versions.

I found Casa Noble but not the Anejo, which I believe means "aged" and I also picked up a bottle of Avion Anejo. We cracked them last night and everyone agreed they were excellent. Thanks for the tip :)

He's partly right. As a cocktail ingredient...vodka's what you add when you don't want to take away from the liqueurs. The only difference I find is that good vodka is smoother. Maybe my taste buds suck...but vodka's what flavourless alcohol's supposed to taste like. The only variations are really whether it's made from...and even those tend to be very neutral things like wheats or potatoes.

A bartending instructor that I know runs master classes for all the liquors. When it comes to vodka, he gets the students to do a blind taste test for the different brands. Everyone SAYS they like grey goose, but when they don't know what they're drinking, they tend to like stoli or ketel one the most. Grey Goose is decent Vodka, but like many spirits, it isn't worth the premium.

For tequila I'm a big fan of Don Julio. Great tequila
