Cruiser insurance NOT cheaper than Sports Bike?

Yeah well I did take one around a parking lot, but you're right i'll definitely take it out for a longer trip before I make my decision. Didn't even consider suspension and steering too much.

Yeah I plan on keeping whichever bike I get for atleast 2-3 years, i'll upgrade as I approach 25, that should be plenty of time to pick up the ins and outs of the bike and gearing. What is the name of the app?

Wow, did she recently purchase the bike? If the previous owner was paying that little, I should definitely shop around a little more. I'm about to call up Andy right now and see what rates he can get me for liability only

Based on a bunch of insurance thread on this site I have compiled this list, for my own future renewal shopping.

Some companies may not be great or insure you (I am 30) some may be amazing. Take this list and call them all, you may get what you are looking for. Some numbers are for London and that's where I am based, but you will be able to get a quote or forwarded or do some research and find a local equivalent.

It's not a sports bike, it just looks like one

edit: also, you can afford a V-Strom... a used one, which used is what you should be shopping for anyway... bike #2 should be new if you want a new one

$980 for my Magnum (1800cc)
$1045 for my GSXR 1000

The Magnum is MUCH more comfortable for all-day rides (even though I don't find the gsxr terrible). Get a drives backrest for your cruiser.

I was 1690 for the year with a Ninja 300 and an m1. That was State Farm last year when I was 21. 1000 ded. Comp and 1 mil liability

...My budget is about 6 grand, ... Even dual sports with my budget I would be limited to a 250, which like you said would be sketchy on the highways.

Lots of slightly used dual sports can be had for 6 grand...V-Strom 650, KLR 650, DR 650, DR 400

I recently bought a very nice 1991 VFR750 for a good price with the intention of making it into a 2nd track bike but in reality its too nice for that so I thought lets get my M2 & venture onto Canadian roads after many years of riding on English roads.
I regularly ride the track on my ZX7 & have ridden in England (roads) for 10 years before coming to Canada 10 years ago & I'm 52 years old.
I started by looking at insurance costs & the best insurance quote I got was $1,900 a year, liability only & including a discount for rider training ($2150 without rider training).
I think I'll be selling the VFR & sticking to the track lol
