Cruise scam call

My parents received a call a few minutes ago offering them a $3k trip for $250 per person. Wanted their information etc... After a while he hung up. Lady called back and I picked up said "he's not interested... do not call back please"

She kept saying "He won a trip and I will be calling back"

Wouldn't listen and insisted on calling back. So I hung up.

Number was 289-804-1082.

Anyone get this scam too? How do we get them to stop calling us?
 
Yep .. been there done that.

Tell them you want to talk to a manager or supervisor. I got one guy on the phone, and probably said things to him that would end me up in jail.
 
They pop up every couple of years or so.... flights or cruises etc... I've gotten a few....
 
I only get the captain calling every now and then.
 
the automated ones i put on hold, the ones that i get personally, and everyone else i know that does, just ask them who they are looking for and let them know that they passed away recently and this is unacceptable...

I only get to hear him if I'm at my parent's house. I don't have a home phone. Thank god he doesn't have my cell number.

LOL...I get this one once in a while too.

I get these scammers once in a while...I just hang up, and if it's consistent, then I do the whole "so and so is deceased thing" or act like I don't understand English and start screaming Cantonese profanities loudly into the phone.

I'd think German would work better. There isn't a word in that whole language that doesn't sound angry.
