crash on 427 north ramp via 401

Re: rider down on 427 north ramp via 401

Eeks! how fast was she going??

It was a easy ramp from 409 to 427 south and the recommended speed was 90. Im guessing anywhere from 80-90. I was at the very end, by the time i got there it was all over. That cop was a ****** bag who almost arrested Juancho, and after that he quickly hid his name tag. His name was Kelly for anyone who cares.

Hopefully the rider recovers quickly. Wishing her all the best.

Hey guys, it was my girl that fell. She's still at the hospital admitted for a bit. She's got two fractured wrists, broken finger, some torn ligaments in her knee and MAJOR road rash!! She's in for CT scan this morning, but hopes to be riding again soon. Bike, I think is done. Frame is all bent up. Thanks to all you guys that helped out with keeping her safe!! She really appreciates it and thanks you ALL. She's not on the forum, but I will send her all your best!! PLS WEAR GEAR, some of her injuries would have been avoided if she wore a jacket. From this day, I will too!!

E

Thanks for the update, Hope to see her on 2 wheels soon.

Damn. That sounds really painful. GWS. Good warning to everyone about the importance of protection.

that highway is disgusting... i live by there and almost killed myself a few weeks ago going way too stupid fast on those uneven roads (if it's the same area i'm thinking of). got too confident coz i go through there every day. my bike fishtailed violently for what felt like forever but i managed to regain control with lots of luck and good instinct. i slow down on bad roads now but i still wear exactly what she does - gloves, helmet, tank top, runners.

perhaps it's about time i learn from someone else's mistake too. i will get myself some gear asap. thanks guys for posting this and glad to hear she is okay. gws!

that is horrible .. I never ride without my gear.. the only thing I dont have is riding pants.

I noticed that my knees were uncovered...
I wont quote the rest (too graphic?) but after reading that, I will be buying riding pants or atleast overpants for highway use..

The desire to look sexy on the bike leaves a lot of girls baring skin (I saw tons of girls as passengers on bikes riding in to the blocko event wearing absolutely nothing protective except for the helmet. Just in shorts, flip flops, tank or bikini top). They all look great on the bike in their booty shorts until a fall and then not so pretty any more. I always shake my head when I see this, not only at the passenger who's not wearing anything but at the rider, likely her boyfriend or someone else who supposedly cares about her, who doesn't tell her that she shouldn't be taking the risk. It only takes one fall. Hoping a speedy recovery for Kesenia.

I agree...

Nope. Just Jeans, Tank top, running shoes and a helmet.

As a fresh-noob rider (w/o the ride), I'm very sorry to read this. I don't know anybody in this forum yet but I feel sorry that a rider went down. I wish her the best and fastest recovery possible.

GWS Kesenia.

GWS Kesenia!
Sorry I heard your name wrong, but we had to keep your lid on until the paramedics came to put a neck brace on you!
I blocked the Sun off of you until the ambulance came. Your bracelet & watch came off, but we grabbed it and put it with your wallet & phone. The shoe that came off was put with your bike on the side of the hwy.
I don't think you know how lucky you are that you didn't get run over by cars or other riders! Let me know if you have any questions or need any help!

Terrible thing to see for those on the ride. Hope she gets better soon, and should be very glad she didn't suffer serious injury. I know after having a little spill before getting my license the importance of gear. Rode back with bloodied pants, ripped shoes and dress shirt that day.

I went to her website, read her stories and saw her pics before I even took the course at RTI. and the very following weekend, I went to get the full gear... and plan never take them off when I'm on my bike.

Actually WestEnd and I were talking about this. We thought girls in riding boots are pretty hot too!:D

GWS the girl rider. You will have a super speedy recovery and get back on to your bike in no time! We have the same bike in the same colour. I will wait for you to recover and ride with you when you are ready. ;)

Well, that sucks. I feel bad such thing happened to this rider girl, gear would've minimised the injuries/road rash.

GWS girl!!!
