Cramps on bike

lol thnx for the tips, next time ill definately have plenty of water and yeh I was probably dehydrated.

i took an hour break at timmies and drank a cup of tea there...no idea why I went for that lmao even though it was hot as hell but that kinda helped. Anyhow that was the longest hour so far in my life and like cha0s00 said "no pain no game" ahahah :p

Went to soccer practice Sunday morning at 6:30...I was miss informed and we had a tournament. We finished at 5:30 and I was dead tired. As soon as I got back on my bike I had the biggest cramp on my calf.

So I took a break and stretched. I was not even riding for 5 min when I got another cramp. I decided not to take the highway and took a break at timmies. The tournament Was in Toronto and I live near oakville. I got home at 8:15 ish....the thought of just selling bike went through my mind but I won't do that;)

Just wondering if anyone else gets cramps as well when their riding.

Well, according to your signature, it's a Ninja 250R. Shouldn't be too bad, can you imagine if you were on a SS. I myself have a sv650, and after 90 minutes or so, I need a break. For me, it's the *** for sitting for so long and the legs being bent for such a time after a while, needs stretching.

just got home.
oh. my. gosh. my legs! its cramping atm. :'(
I didn't feel it while riding... I can't imagine though.

no cramps but i find that my throttle hand starts to go numb after a while of straight highway riding. going to and coming back from dover i could barely feel my index/middle finger at the end

get a throttle rocker. makes all that go away.

Water and lots of it.The paramedics at the track sometimes ask the riders to avoid gatorade type drinks.I wonder why?

potassium is your friend

try going for a long ride after murdering your legs in the gym

because people will then only drink gatorade. some people also think its snake oil.

awful lot of sugar in gatorade

I deal with a lot of guys while out in the field that drink those energy drinks first thing in the morning and then a few times througout the day to keep them going.
When I get guys with some form of heat injury that's always one of my questions, and then I'll give them a lecture about using that crap.

Actually, if you do a little research....the best possible way to properly rehydrate your body and balance electrolytes after an activity such as riding is real Coconut water. Fresh, young coconut water is the best but quality canned like 'Blue Monkey' will do it. Your body doesn't need quite the same thing as it would if you were doing intense exercises...but you still need really good quality rehydration. Coconut water has a natural affinity with our bodies...blood plasma can be actually replaced with coconut water! (I did a lot of research on this when I had my nutrition website.....). It's all we take to the beach and on those real hot days, instead of water.
