Covid snitch thread

The Walmart i was at yesterday has huge main aisles with a display of items every 20ft. If they took the displays out there could easily put barriers in to control traffic direction. There didn't seem to be arrows anywhere in the store. Waterloo was inspected last week and found to be 55% in compliance.
Went for a drive this aft out in the country and there were buggies on all the roads. Church services just finished.
We are in this for a looong while yet.

I second Wingboy’s post. I live in the horse n buggies area. Folks in these parts think it’s okay to go out for the essentials with the whole family in the store. Should Walmart get a pass if there 55% in compliance? They should be shutdown until they prove to be 100%. I say shutdown all big box stores and let the small guy open. They will be 100% in compliance without a problem.

Most of those horse and buggy folks have had or got and getting over covid in my area

Play Walmart's game. A family of five counts as five people. Keep the general merchandise sections open. Drop the occupancy to 10%. Let Walmart do the profit math. Do you want the profits from one person buying a jar of peanut butter or do you want the profits from five people buying that one jar of peanut butter while the other four peanut butter buyers shop elsewhere?

I wandered though Walmart's general merchandise section and there weren't a lot of people there nor did I see a lot of general merchandise at the check outs.

By the building code / fire marshal's recommendations, a store has an occupancy limit based on X square feet per person. With Covid that may be reduced to restrict entry to 30% of the original number. If Walmart is using their full area, including general merchandise, for entry counts and no one is going into general merchandise then the grocery section must be over crowded.

My local Walmart in normal times would have have the capacity of a small town, 3000 people. During Covid it drops to half, 1500. However the grocery section is only a quarter of the store and that's where everyone is going. They could be over capacity for normal times.

Fortino's around the corner from me is most certainly counting people in and out (and stopping people from going in when they hit a limit). The Sobey's a little further away is doing the same. I don't shop at Walmart except as a last resort.

I'm sure it helps that it's known that in Peel Region, the government (not sure which department) is spot-checking big stores - although they've had someone there regulating traffic for months.

Same at Farm Boy at 427 and Brows Line. Security at the entrance counting people in/out. Plus the store set up a covered sidewalk so people can wait outside protected from the wind/snow. Nice setup.

WSIB said that hundreds of inspectors were just hired. I would guess under MOL or PH umbrella.
