I will risk the plague to sit down with a coffee and the Home Depot/Lowes/ CTC fliers, its like a weekly ritual. There is NOTHING I need in any of those fliers, almost ever, but the CTC flyer is sacred.

Download the Reebee app. All the flyers, digital format. Searchable. Convenient.

Yes, I get the whole tactile feel thing (and I agree that newspapers are probably fairly low risk), but just mentioning it. I never look at physical flyers anymore - I think they're going to be a thing of the past inside 5 years honestly, as will many local newspapers that they usually come in - could happen sooner as Covid has already seen many companies go digital flyer only.

Just for fun ~5000Ns on a 200Kg bike is good for ~0 to 60 mph in 4 seconds. Obviously that would be faster if you used the bike motor as well.

All great until you want to stop accelerating and the rocket still has another 10-20 seconds of thrust left in it before burning out.

Then you get to find out how fast your brakes can bleed heat before overheating, fading, becoming useless, and catching on fire. ;)

We all know that rockets connected to motor vehicles are f'ing awesome...Wile E. Coyote and the Road Runner have taught us that....beep beep!

The MythBusters episodes on the topic should give everyone a healthy respect for rockets. ;)

That one only has a 3.8 second burn. Mainly an expensive light and sound show with a bit of speed.

The jato rocket from the Darwin award urban myth is 1000 lbs thrust for 15 seconds. Hell no.

You're just at the edge of the rabbit hole. Start looking at the stuff people are launching that are liquid fueled. I'm not sure where you could touch them off without issues.

IIRC the one I have is two-stage D-C.
I should think anywhere if you don't get caught, complained on or accidentally take out a low flying aircraft ;)

At summer camp for our daughter it was visiting day and rocket launches were on the agenda. Some of them got up a few feet and then went horizontal. A few smart people hid behind trees.

apparently american tourists are still being let through

shoot it down with a 22 rifle ;) don't miss
and don't shoot in a direction where anybody might be within a mile
that should do it.

 possibly prohibited by law, not sure on that, guess that depends on if you hit the rocket string or the wire.

Just super bad luck. The rockets aren’t huge and it didn't really drift too much. Good news is, the actual fuselage bits are cheap. We had another rocket that was fine. Had to retrieve it once out of a tree but all good. Lots of fun!

Yikkies!!

This isn't abnormal for anyone who ends up on a ventillator for a few weeks.

Be glad we live in Canada. We can complain all we want about the taxes and all that, but if you spend a month in the hospital on a ventilator through no fault of your own, when (hopefully) you come home you won't have to worry about this.

Oh lookey what's happening in Texas:

Florida won't be far behind.

And yet even with these realities hitting, and what happened in NYC where bodies were being kept in freezer trucks because they couldn't bury people fast enough, there's still people calling this a big overblown "fake crisis".

The world needs a good cleansing of stupid people. Can we have a virus that effects only the Dunning Kruger crowd pretty please?
