Not in the wet! The concrete had much less grip than the asphalt when I rode in wet conditions there.

Ha! "Slight transition...not perfectly even...." I walked the track in the morning and observed places where the concrete stood a good 1.5" proud of the surrounding asphalt!
It's true what you say though - at speed you rarely notice it. I think I would have been better off mentally if I had not inspected things so closely...
