Considering getting a Different bike

I had a 1987 K100RS for 18 years. It was a GREAT bike, and I regret selling it.

Thanks for the fuel injection lesson too. I've had the hot tank and just assumed it was heating up from the engine below it.

Not sure what pan weave is but pushing all that fairing through the wind at speed is tough. I had my GL1200 up to an indicated 160 once and it was weaving so bad I didn't think I'd get it stopped in one piece.
I rode a 1500 that was the same way. The 1800 was Rock solid to a max of 202 gps. On a closed course by a professional rider of course.

The OP has or had an FZ07 and looking for a change and the experience seems a bit on the limited side. Not sure what is best?

I’ve never actually had someone recommend a bike out of the blue. The bike or myself choose the other. I’ve got a list of bikes I want to own and ride but, garage space and disposable income restrict things.

The heart wants what it wants. If the FZ07 isn’t cutting it, there are many different styles and approaches to take. There should be one or a few calling your name for one reason or another. Adventure, touring, practical, retro, track, bar hop etc. Follow your passion, research the budget needed to make the dream a reality and go after it.

My GL1000 runs true to its max of 190KMH naked, with the Vetter on 160 starts getting wobbly. My GL1500 was good to 165 before it started feeling squishy. I've ridden an ST faster than the PanWeave speed (190) without issue however I watched an ST start to weave at about 190.

I probably used the same closed course as as Wingboy.

Grey Rd 14 just south of Hopeville. It's on the way to the Beaver Valley.

My GL1100 was no problem on the way up , but coming off throttle from 130-125ish it would start a speed wobble and stop about 110-100. But it wouldn't do it every time, and you couldn't "make" it happen. If you just left the brakes alone and let it wobble its way out you were good to go, brakes would set a tank slap. I had it checked at the local dealer, new head bearings , added a damper, had frame alignment checked. She went to a new home where the guy that bought it proceeded to put 220,000 kms on it. Brave lad.
