Actually they are very high voltage and low current which is why they work, like a static shock hurts but not dangerous. If they were low voltage they could be deadly.

Think of them as similar to a 12 volt battery with a coil and points. Possibility of knocking out a pacemaker???

Not recommended IMO.

I did indeed get the two mixed up, I know as kid if we touched them they gave a pretty good jolt...lol You can also view many youtube videos on them, NOT recommended you take a leak on one either..lmao
