Cone air filters & a hypercharger

Has anyone converted their air intake that is under the fuel tank to cone air filters on a v star 1100, as well as installing a hypercharger.
I am thinking of doing these upgrades but before I do I just want to get some feedback if anyone has done this on their v star 1100.

It will make some cool intake honk. As far as performance is concerned, i doubt you will see any "real" gains.
Making horsepower costs a lot of money. Pistons, cams, exhaust and head work.

 I was sold the moment I read:
"Twist the throttle and watch the hotrod-styled vacuum-operated butterflies mesmerize onlookers"

Hypercharger on your bike has been touched on here before, but sadly the OP never came back to report on their results, so we may never know how great it really works. V Star 1100 mods/upgrade advice needed.

That stuff is generally useless bling.
What ;) you never seen a motor make more horsepower by adding vacuum operated cosmetic devices, I'm shocked
Just imagine how much positive air pressure that scoop forces into the carburetor at warp speed.

I saw an actual genuine study a number of years ago on the Hypercharger that came to the conclusion that at all road legal speeds the any increases in power were below the margin of error and effectively zero accordingly.

They did generate a marginal increase in power at speeds exceeding 100MPH if I remember correctly. I want to say it estimated to be literally a few horsepower.

So unless you're riding regularly at speeds north of 150KPH you're not going to see anything at all. If you ride in the rain at all they also apparently scoop up rain really nicely however.

I wish I could find the study but it escapes me now...I looked for it a few months back after someone mentioned the HC somewhere else.

In short, I agree with Brian, it's just bling.

I bet it would give you back some performance on a bike that has an original dirty clogged air filter in it.

It has to be at least as effective as hood scoops on a car. .... if they put vacuum operated butterfly valves on the openings  which buys you negative returns.
