Computer video card question

It's basically big kid Lego that you can tinker with and game on :p

It's really the uninformed that dump money to play "that" game. I can't tell you how many $1200+ PCs I built when BF3 was announced, and BF3 isn't what I would call "graphics intensive". A $600 setup could run BF3 comfortably in big online matches maxed out.

Then of course you have the guys on overclockers.net and EVGA forums using liquid nitrogen cooling systems. It takes all types.

I dropped over $3000 including all the peripherals into my computer just under 2 years ago for school/work. I do a lot of CAD, CFD analysis, etc. etc. and a regular computer just wasn't cutting it. Was it overkill.... oh yes. But it's still king today

All this is to say, I've never had a problem with my 6970. It does run a little hot, it's only got the single fan. But it's taken whatever I've thrown at it, including all the newer games
