Riding 2-up can be very easy if they are a good passenger. I'm able to do some crazy stuff with the gf on the back. We get comments all the time along the lines of "I can barely do that on my own, nevermind with a passenger" or "You two are friggin crazy, I dunno how you hold on through all that."

I also did my first 2up ride this season. Gone out twice now. Wasn't nearly as bad as I expected. The only time I notice she's there is when braking (takes longer and have to think about her pressing extra weight into me) and when stopped (harder to balance). She seems to be really good in the turns especially considering she's never ridden before (passenger or otherwise) and I didn't give her much instruction.
