Commercial laundry equip. for residential use?

^^

their reliability ratings for automobiles are fairly accurate too.

You can stop shedding your bell bottom tears now, it appears Audi finally figured how to engineer quality in their cars.....

"European brands were notoriously unreliable—but that’s no longer true. The real standout is Audi, near the bottom a few years back but now up there with the better Japanese brands."

Sometimes I feel really out of place when I look at the marketplace (for lots of things, but also laundry and appliances)

I don't want a washer/dryer that have a fancy paint job, LCD display, and will text with laundry updates. I want stuff that is simple, cleans well and is reliable. Fancy paint and pointless features seem like a massive waste of money to me. A place like Wise Buy sounds right for me.

But someone in this thread said never buy anything whirlpool because ten years ago their whirlpool dishwasher leaked

Sorry you got it wrong. New Whirlpool washer died at 11 months--pump (one month out of warranty). Whirlpool then proceeded to jerk me around for two months trying to get it fixed, even tough I was clear that I was paying for the repair, I did not expect them to pay for it--they still jerked me around. Washer ended up in the bin, basically had to give up on ever getting it fixed. That was just a few years ago.

Next, bought a house, it came with a couple year old maytag fridge, it died at about three years old. Came with a near new whirlpool washer, it leaks (started at about four years old), we just moved it closer to the floor drain, no way am I going through their repair process again. Maytag dryer stopped working, it was also just a few years old--i fixed this myself.

My stove is a kenmore, it's almost as old as I am (I used to crash my tricycle into it when I was 3 years old). Only problem has been the clock. Washer/drier I don't remember the brand but they're a good 20-30 years old, dryer doesn't heat up as warm as it used to but otherwise they work fine, I'm rue to ever replaces any of those appliance unless they have a catastrophic failure.

This is where I am, across the board. My general happiness and satisfaction quotient doesn't increase one iota by adding needlessly complex and cheesy features. That just gums up the works. Example, I heard on the radio that the State of Ohio is proposing putting your drivers license on a smartphone. No more card. That's insane. My new employer wants to put my pay stub on email, crazy. Direct deposit, I get. To function in society we're all going to need to be wired 24/7. Next thing you know every adventure bike will be wired to satalite, no opting out. Why are so many people so happy to adopt this way of living and ultimately handing over control of their lives. Go rogue.

sounds like some of you need to go back to the stone ages....

The pendulum doesn't have to swing to extremes. Sensible people get that:)

oddly enough there is a commercial stainless steel heubesch(sp?) for sale on kijiji right now in Hamilton. You can have one this morning. Finding it took 12 seconds.

In Inreb time, that's like, 4 hours. Sorta like human years to dog years.

Paystub thing going on here too. I said what if my computer breaks?
They said go to the library.

That's wrong, they'll still offer cards. Not sure what's crazy about an email pay stub. That's kinda the greatness of email.

And then you go completely off the rails, while complaining about the pendulum swinging to extremes. Hmmm.

Your overall point is right on IMO, but those are just some really bad examples.

Riductio ad absurdism.

Great counter argument?

Anyone who thinks parallel park assist should go back to a horse and buggy?

How's 'bout those that claim "I can't live without it".............. gezzzzzzzzzz

Most of the people I grew up with don't have a computer. Hence, no clue what email is. Is that crazy?

I've read that Inreb's emailer has breakdown issues.
Personally, I would want a physical pay stub, if I had a job. Why is this even being discussed? ......gezzzzzzzz

Oddly enough I'm a new appliance snob.

Because most, especially larger companies, would not pay you nowadays unless they can make a direct deposit .... not saying that it's right .... but up to you either go with the flow or go against the grain and work without being paid.
