I'm considering purchasing a Yamaha with only 1 chipped key, as the owner cannot find the red key without which the dealer cannot program a new chipped key. Yamaha uses a 4D69 transponder chip.


Is there anyone in the GTA that is able to clone an existing Yamaha key?

I've found this site in the UK which is able to do so, but would rather have this done here.

Just in case, if you gonna trailer the Yamaha bike home do not leave your key in ignition. I trailered my R6 from Belleville to Mississauga with key in. When I tried to start the bike, it wouldn't start and had to reprogram the black key with the red key.

I'd say talk to Tafb as that seems lile something he would be on top of but sadly we cant do that anymore. Mental health is no joke. Good luck in your quest.

I would see if the current owner can get keys. Tell them you will pay the asking price if it comes with 2 (or 3) keys. If I had spares in hand, I would be less concerned about the red key.
