Cleanest solution for storage for a sport tourer??

Here's an option, http://ontario.kijiji.ca/c-cars-veh...Top-Box-Motorcycle-Luggage-W0QQAdIdZ514893558. Don't know the model but looks to be about 50L. Fair offer would be around $150. Givi top case rack + M5 kit is listed at $150 plus tax from aviciouscycle. A little over $300 and you have a fair bit of waterproof/lockable storage. With the top case rack, that also gives you a good place to strap down a duffle bag sitting on the back seat for additional storage when required.

Nice that you added a link as they are what we were speaking of. They are pricey but were cheaper then a new bike for me and about the best solution I could find for me. By simply purchasing the bike specific bar and mount (1 per side) they can be fitted to many different bikes, so hopefully I can use the on my next bikes also if they do not come with hard luggage.

1. SW-Motech Blaze Saddle Bags, 21 L each, $339.95
2. Ogio Tail Bag, 20.8 L, $89.99

Took a tour from Kitchener to Algonquin, and to Barry's Bay, Haliburton, all that good stuff etc... I really appreciated how easily the whole setup was attached and removed for day trips without the extra weight on the back. I left the saddlebags at a cabin, and, used the tail bag for emergency supplies and water etc.

Already had this ....fits perfectly on the pillion of the FZ8 and make a bit of a back rest

Soccer team van Burgman carries the Samsonite duffel that ups my storage into the 150 litre range

If I get the right straps this time I can still lift the seat without unstrapping....
Ugly but its free :D

This is what I plan on doing when I upgrade to a 600 likely next year. Already have the Ogio tailbag and love it/ride with it 99% of the time (carries water, spare shield, rain layer, and other supplies), and love the fact you can virtually remove the blaze setup entirely and have the bike look stock (no rack left on the bike).

Oh and also looking at getting a ring-lock tankbag as well, to add a little more storage (or allow me to ride without the tailbag sometimes) and the ring-lock should mean zero risk of scuffing the tank.
