Ok ok.. I'm sorry. :-) Hey, I like Four Weddings and a Funeral..I suppose we're even.. :-)

Gotta chuckle that 'classic' is apparently now referring to 80's and 90's movies...

The first ones to come to my mind were 'Arsenic and Old Lace' or 'American Graffitti'...but okay; I recently bought 'Footloose' to show my 11yr old. Gotta a kick out of seeing it again after all these years! :D I can't wait to show him 'The Truman Show'... Always loved 'Indian Summer' too, not one I'll be showing him just yet though...LOL! He wouldn't quite 'get' it anyway. Another couple destined to become 'classics': 'Ferris Bueller's Day Off' and 'The Breakfast Club'.

Can't believe nobody said it yet. One of the top grossing Canadian flicks of all time.....
pOrky's!
Bwahahaha! I remember going to see this "Anybody seen Mike Hunt?" :lmao: Plus all the other wild-party, kids outta control movies. Like 'Up The Creek', 'Weekend at Bernies', 'Less Than Zero' 'Little Darlings' and 'Adventures In Babysitting'.

Can't believe I didn't see mention of 'Animal House' or 'The Outsiders'.

Lots of great choices so far!

I agree with lots - love Trainspotting, Commando, Army of Darkness, Blues Brothers, ...

A few that I think have been missed:

  • The Big Lebowski (how was this missed???)
  • Pumping Iron;
  • Hard to Kill;
  • The Transporter;
  • Vanishing Point;
  • Two Lane Blacktop;
  • American Graffiti;
  • Snakes on a Plane.

It's a rainy day and my bike isn't running ATM, should check one of these out!

For some reason, I thought The Big Lebowski was a bit newer so I didn't put it on my list.. Some of the movies you listed are from under 10 years ago, not sure if I'd count'em as "classics" even though I like The Transporter and Snakes on a Plane is funny after smoking certain herbal remedies ;)

James Bond movies...John Wayne movies....Clint movies...Steve McQueen movies

Was watchin a bit of Rio Bravo yesterday

The goonies! HEY YOU GUUUUYS!

Lots of good ones mentioned already. Here's some I haven't seen mentioned yet

The Secret of Nymh
Masters of the Universe
Flight of the Navigator
Inner Space
The Princess Bride
The Wizard
Little Monsters (my god that's 3 Fred Savage movies I've listed already)
Godzilla vs <insert ridiculous giant sized bug here>
American Ninja
Any 80's Arnie, Van Damme or Stallone flick... Total Recall, Running Man, Terminator, Lionheart, Cyborg, Double Impact, Universal Soldier, Rocky, Rambo, Over the Top...

Classic relative to my age, I'm not an old fart yet ;) and they will be "classics" in a few decades

These, and Zoolander, Sleeper and Bananas (the last two are old Woody Allen's).

In the Woody Allen category don't forget "What's up Tiger Lily" where he took a Japanese spy/crime movie, then dubbed it to comedy.

- The Day the Earth Stood Still (1951)
- Them! (1954)
- Big Trouble in Little China (1986)
- Plan 9 from Outer Space (1959 unintentional comedy - Bela Lugosi died during filming of it and was doubled by a guy who was almost a foot taller)

Quick Change was on tv today....great flick.

I'm partial to Strips (the first half) as well. Anything with Bill Murray.

Big Trouble in Little China is a must see...

You know, I was at the ballgame and some drunken guy yelled at the Red Sox outfielder Ryan Sweeney "Hey Sweeney!! You rented Titanic last night, didn't you!!" haha!!! Sorry...just had to add that..ahem.. :-)

I just kinda went with it. Movies like Trainspotting, Rush Hour, Titanic (???) and Memento were coming up and Lebowski's from around then ('98?). The Transporter and Snakes on a Plane are a little more contemporary but are in the vein of bad '80s/'90s gory violent fare.

Which reminds me, I don't think The Way of the Gun was on anyone's lists. That ending scene was sick! I remember thinking that that vindicated Ryan Phillipe after that Cruel Intentions crap.

Time passes my friends!

"You gonna bark all day little doggy? Or are you gonna bite?" Love Resevoir Dogs!

I was thinking more about why I can never hear "Stuck in the Middle with You" and think about it the same way, but that works too :lol:

"The Warriors" is another good one.

The Warriors is so fun! I love cheesy fighting movies. Bruce Lee is my fav. especially "Game of Death" and anything with Clint Eastwood.
Spinal Tap is a movie I could watch over and over too.
