Clares Motorcycle service rant

During a safety certification check I was told by the service manager at Clares Cycle that I required a new master cylinder for the rear breaks as it was NFG. I agreed to the new part install and paid the almost $300 part and service trusting they were being honest. 3 days later my rear breaks had no pressure no matter how long i pumped so I inconvenienced my girlfriend a second time so I could drop off the bike for them to re bleed. A day later went to pick up the bike and the same guy said that the breaks will probably loose pressure again because I have aftermarket lines and quoted me $150 to bring back to stock which would solve the problem. I took my chances and didnt get the new parts installed. After 3 days sure enough no rear breaks again. WTF...So i consulted google and found someone that had a similar issue and what he said was that there was 2 bleed screws and the second one wasn't getting bled. The second one is tucked out of view in behind. I went down to Canadian Tire and picked of some fluid and one of those handy dandy bleeder hoses and bled both areas. Its been 3 weeks now and I still have working rear breaks.

So I have 2 scenarios and either one will make me never go back to Clares. #1 The mechanic doesn't know **** and shouldn't even work on E-bikes. or #2 They know about the second bleeder screw and use this as an opportunity to screw people into new parts.

..oh it's an e-bike...I thought those were fixed by the same pimply youth that modify playstations.

Its all about making more money...
I went to change the chain to a shop, to change the chain takes 30min at most, i just didnt have the chain so decided to install it at the shop when i bought it.

It took the guy 1.5hrs, i only agreed to pay for one hr and off i went. Never again.....

..but still no luck with that spell checker.

You agreed to spend $450 on an e-bike?

Aren't you the guy who fixed his stripped oil plug with a spark plug?

You comment on his spelling, but you cant read...

He said and i quote: "those fkrs should NOT EVEN work on e-bikes"
Meaning - not only they should not touch motorcycles, they should not touch e-bikes....

Spoiler alert: learn how to read, selective reading doesn't always work.

Maybe if he wasn't functionally illiterate, we could understand this.

wasn't on an e-bike and now you know why I cant afford a proper oil pan fix. I'm glad my typo gave you a reason to post and show others that you can't read. I never realized that a motorcycle forum was a place to be judged by our peers for grammatical errors instead of the receiving advice for motorcycle related questions that we are seeking answers for.

Spoiler alert...use of correct grammar...ambiguous sentence. You'll get it one day!

Thank you mr. English teacher...

Shouldn't you just go back to Clares and explain all this in a calm and rational manner? It may not be a money grubbing conspiracy rather just worst employee syndrome. Studies show every company has one.

I wonder what type job you hold with those English skills?

So I read a few of your past posts starboy and I really don't think you are one to be the grammar judge. If proper sentence structure is that important to this group then I will avoid posting more topics. Don't want to offend the superior ******** of this site.

Was the rear brake actually busted to begin with? That's something that's pretty easy to check for yourself.

Also, there is a Reviews section for this kind of thing.

I also thought he/she rode an e-bike. The problem with the phrase he/she used is that it can be taken two ways:

  1. The tech is so incompetent they shouldn't even be working on a marvelous technological gizmo like my e-bike. or
  2. The tech is so imcompetent that they shouldn't even be allowed to work on a piece of crap like an e-bike, nevermind my wonderful fossil-fuel powered marvelous motorcycle.

Either conclusion could be reached by a reasonable reader with good English comprehension. The only way to be sure which meaning was intended would be to hear it spoken and listen to the inflection. If the poster was accenting the word "work" it would mean the first, if he/she had accented the word "e-bikes" it would have meant the second. English is not always a very precise language - particularly when written. That's why emails and texts are so dangerous to relationships. LOL.

But you folks carrying on criticizing each other. It's amusing.

In lieu of ants-in-pants-friday, (cheer up buttercups).
