Civil War if Obama Re-elected!!

The problem is not carrying, the problem is the mentality that at any minute, they are going to need to "draw down" on somone or something.... I asked him if he thought he was in that much danger most of the time... he said yes... Fear is a powerful motivator.

You're right, there is a fear - of everything - woven into their social conscious. Another GTAM member suggested in another thread that it stems from the way the U.S. was formed, through revolution. It makes a second one seem more plausible.

I don't see anything loony.

What I see is a mostly adult discussion about something perfectly legal in their country. Just because you fear guns or don't agree with US laws doesn't make these guys "loony".

Lol..discussing which hand of the bike is easiest to reach the gun etc etc is totally sane? Sorry...these scared gentlemen strike me as a little obsessed.

Very true. But I think it's hard for many Canadians to *not* judge. Holstering a gun as you walk down the street or go for a ride is such a foreign idea for us. I have no problem with someone owning a gun, and keeping it in their home to defend their loved ones. But to be packing as you head out to the bar to meet your buddies just doesn't compute.

With the series of random shootings, if I was living there, I wouldnt want to be at a disadvantage.

You want to start one or join in one?

If I was shot at, I will engage.
Would you stay there and hope u never get shot?

Due to greater social inequalities, the US is a pretty violent country. I have no issues with law-abiding citizens having the tools to defend themselves should they need to even here. I wouldn't personally choose to carry in Canada but I wouldn't prevent others from doing it.

I was in Arkansas and listening to a guy bragging how he stopped traffic with his gun to allow his ride to go through an intersection.
