Balls of steel.

In 2016, when General Yeager was asked on Twitter what made him want to become a pilot, the reply was infused with cheeky levity: “I was in maintenance, saw pilots had beautiful girls on their arms, didn’t have dirty hands, so I applied.”

Saw him being interviewed at the Osh Kosh Airshow about ten years ago. Real interesting , no nonsense kind of guy. I remember him saying one of the gifts that made him such a great fighter pilot was his eyesight. He saiid he could see the German fighters way before they could see him.

I was surprised when he passed on the space program. Said he was too busy to spend time in space.

One of my favourite autobiographies is on this man. Absolutely great read on a great man. RIP. Such an interesting life he lead.

I remember his game on old school PC....good laughs watching it now but awesome back in the day.
