This world is a messed up place and unfortunately it will not get better at all. I'm still debating whether I will have kids or not. I know that i WANT a child or two so that I can experience fatherhood and have a family one day, but it's not a world I would want to put someone through at the rate of society's deterioration.

Society's Deterioration? Oh please. If anything society is getting better and more fair. Slavery? Yeah, that's gone, "witch" burnings? Done. Charter of Human Rights? Yeah, we got one of those.

The perverts that you see now have existed before and will keep on existing. The 14 year old girls that slut it up and dress like whores, and post pictures of themselves naked on the internet have existed 100 years ago too. Only difference is that back then that girl would go have sex with the neighbor instead of whoring it up online. The only thing that changed is the ease of access to (and distribution of) information.

Roasted, I am not just referring to perverts of the world. I was thinking more of the opinion that there seems to be more and more people with 0 values, no respect for anyone including themselves, people who want everything but don't want to lift a finger to get it, things like that.
Yes this has existed for a long time but in my opinion it's getting worse and worse.

I don't blame it directly, but it's definitely some contributing factors: really horrible music out there, bad influences through games/peer pressure/lack of any judgement at all/inability to use common sense/unwillingness to respect others, advertising targetting certain markets and using psychological tactics to sucker people (look back in the days when Good Year was using psychological advertising. People who didn't even own a car had a set of 4 tires in the garage for no reason).

In the end it's just my opinion. I'd love it if I witnessed newer generations understand the concept of "Your freedom stops where the next person's begins", but that's just asking for a white picket fence.
I know the world will never be perfect, but from what I see around me I don't want to be raising another human being.

-1 Looking at my upbringing I would be in the Ultraviolent category Kids have played with wooden swords, played cowboys and indians way before video games. In fact we (assuming your in your 30's) grew up with adult shows with sexual content that we simply didn't get (Three's company) and adult content in our cartoons where we didn't get the joke, but our parents laughed. We weren't worse off for it.

Now Children shows have Child Psychiatrists in the credits. They seem to be doing a great job.

My young niece had long hair a supernodel would die for and cut it off to be made into a wig for kids that had cancer and were going though chemo.

Kids have started programs to provide wells for people in third world countries.

When my daughter was in high school she collected shoe boxes and using her allowance filled them with pencils, note pads, toys and personal items that would be sent to kids in other countries where they had nothing

Thank you. Agreed completely. People are very quick to raise the flag about how there is a "decline in morals" in our society without really looking at the past. 50 years ago a woman that was being beaten by her husband sucked it up and chucked it up to ****** luck for marrying a scumbag. You'd never hear about it. Now they have programs for abused women that they can turn to, people are a bit more open to a divorce, etc. They have options. But of course, when they exercise these options you hear aobut it.

Old fogeys just love to **** all over the current generation, all while pretending that the generation that raised it - their own - are the last holdout of a perfect lost world. Instead, you blame bad music and advertising, as if the bad music and advertising simply made itself.
