Chopped or no windscreens?

I was chilling in Yorkville this Friday night and a pack or riders ripped through riding around and between cars. It sounded awesome but I noticed they all had no or chopped windscreens. I have never seen this before. It gave the bikes a pretty cool look. Is this a common mod or was it a crew thing. I don't know just wondering.
 
Mostly stunt riders chop their windscreens because it makes it easier to do certain tricks, or some people just like the way it looks.
 
more comfortable when they sit on the tank and hang their legs over on the front fairing before they do a wheelie.
 
Or it could've been a gang of CBR 125s
