Check Out This Clever Idea!

That's a neat idea. I wouldn't mind one of these for city riding as long as protection and quality aren't sacrificed for the novelty.

So is wearing your jacket as a backpack while riding considered squid or ATGATT? lol

Laptop at the back also acts as a back guard? haha. Pretty expensive one though.

Also, my question is, where would you put all those stuff before you turn your jacket into a backpack? Or do you just ride squid and use it as a backpack only?

Laptop in back pocket, cell phone in inner pocket, keys in bike, gloves on hands, helmet on head, body in jacket :)

Interesting idea for sure, like the concept but the prototype looks a little weak and the thought of carrying around a small suitcase around on your back seems a bit of a stretch. Don't think i will invest.

I think that the idea is that when you are off your bike walking around you are to wear the jacket as a backpack and carry all your gear that you were wearing inside the backpack.

Seems like a pretty cool idea

neat idea but needs to be a bit more mature... seems clear the only protection is elbows and shoulders ... also what happens if you get cold? gotta put the jacket back on and carry the helmet and gloves...

and obviously your back armor is supposed to be a macbook pro! lol

I'm one of the creators of this jacket... This jacket is being made IN CANADA by a manufacturer that make military uniforms so the end result is looking awesome... the idea is that when you go to an event like say Port Dover, Friday the 13 and you are walking around for a few hours you can have your hands free... you wanna check out some of the vendors but your hands are loaded full... we don't recommend that you go grocery shopping for the week... lol...

nevermind

Hey Stephen, no disrespect, if you have been riding for decades then you may remember the Kay-Way jacket that was created in the late 60's early 70's? it has sold hundreds of millions if not billions of $ worth of products and has been sold through a couple of major players though out its life... this is the new era of that... you wouldn't use it all day every day... its about options... and if you feel comfortable putting a $1000+ helmet "securely" on your bike with "plastic wrapped steel cable" but a pair of cutters at an event is a guaranteed payday for someone...lol... just saying... and not for nothing, none of my "buddies" have saddle bags, especially ones that will hold helmets... of all 5 of us...

now i want to be clear that I'm not trying to be argumentative... i appreciate your input.. honest

we just missed the auditions for dragons den :( by about 2 months

oh yeah and the names are mike and kevin... The Miven didn't roll well

cheers

I think its a great idea but i think i will echo the sentiments of a few other people here. It needs to be a bit more mature. I could see myself using this as i dont like leaving the helmet on the bike in some places. However without actualy looking at a product its hard for me to judge qaulity and feel. As a jacket i would want more protection for the back. But the idea is strong and will keep a look out for future generations of it as you improve your design.

On a serious note, create a concept that includes some proper knox or d3O armour (including a spine pad/protector), and make the bag more like a duffle, and less like a dweeby back-pack, and you've got another investor, for sure. I'd suggest leather, but since this is a "once in a while" jacket, I think Denier is better. Waterproofing is a GREAT idea. Also: does it have a liner? A vest-liner would be enough.

SV on the demo page to boot :)

Yo, dawg, I heard you like jackets so I put a jacket in yo jacket so you could wear a jacket while you wear yo jacket.

As long as protection is not compromise and it's reasonably priced I'd be interested. Although I do like to have back protection when I buy a jacket and not use my $$$ Mac lol

Why not buy a cheap nylon backpack that fits in a pocket and use it to carry your normal riding jacket, helmet and stuff? I ride a Goldwing so not for me either way.
