Im not saying cheating is right im just saying its not always wrong. The situations of people on the site will be varied and complex and its not a good idea to paint the entire user base with the same brush. As slicks case points out.

OI I agree that the vegetable state becomes a grey area but thats an exceptional case where the person comprehends nothing. That becomes a moral dilemma but in 99.99999% of cases, people dont cheat because theyir partner is physically incapable of understanding them. They cheat because they cheat and its always wrong IMO. And most people on Ashley Madison who are married are not cheating because their spouse is a vegetable. All the cheating girls ive met have some BS excuse like he doesnt pa yattention to me or some nonsense along those lines.

We would probably agree on most case by case that its wrong but "They cheat because they cheat and its always wrong IMO" is a gross over simplification of a massively complex situation. Its impossible to know the motivation and situation of 100% of thous cheat.

I think so too. I think on most cases we weould agree and yes, yorue right. There are exceptional cases where it may be less wrong to cheat but i think those are vanishingly rare cases. I think most people who cheat just cheat because theyre boread and its fun. Its a lack of commitment. Im no angel and i hope i never cheat and i hope that if one day i cant be with my gf/wife, i have the courage to leave her before i start having fun elsewhere.

I can't think of a scenario, aside from vegetative state, where cheating would be okay.

Even with the vegetative state argument, cheating isn't a solution to a problem; it's an escape, very similar to a drug induced one (think about the happy highs you get when you first bang someone or have a mutual connection). The original problem would still be there.

I'd argue that people cheat because they are too afraid to or unable to cope with their problems.

Well if YOU can't think of it then it must be a moral absolute.

What I'm saying is its impossible to know all motivations and factors that go into the act. As a result it is impossible to throw a blanket state of morality around a complex situation.

And I might not disagree with your argument that in a case of vegetive it might be an escape...but so what? Everyones needs are different and people have different ways of coping with things does not make it wrong. I'm also not saying right more a morally neutral action.
 
Who cares if somebody cheats....it's their and their spouse's issue.

But on a serious note, youre right. It is the person and their spouses issue. But thats only a fair argument IF the spouse knows theyre being cheated on. Which is why say, expose the cheaters. If theyre not cheating or if its an open relationship, then they have nothing to worry about. But those who are actually cheating behinde their spouse's back, should be exposed because that spouse has every right to know the truth. My $0.02
