Cheapest way to wire money to German bank account?

yum yum

Anyone know what the cheapest way would be for sending a wire transfer to a German bank account?

I know RBC has their International Remittance, but the recipient has to be a person (and not a company). So, b/c it's a company that I want to wire the funds to, RBC wants to charge me $45! What a rip! :angry6:

Thanks for any help!

Did you look at western union?

Thanks, guys, for the suggestions.

The funds need to be wired directly to their bank account in Germany (Paypal doesn't do that...have to look into Western union). If I could only send it to them by Paypal (or just give a credit card #), it would be so much easier. Damn old-skool company! :(

Oh, and they don't accept cheques/bank drafts/money orders.

It's unfortunate that a lot of 'scams' involve things like Escrow services and Western Union. But sometimes you just need to use those services.

I have bought things through Escrow that needed transfer of ownership titles to happen before money released. It was all on the up and up, but in the back of my mind i kept thinking, 'wow, it's really easy to use this kind of service for a scam'.

Caveat Emptor OP.

If I'm doing a "legal" transaction, I don't see why I wouldn't want it to be tracked. Its good for records anyway, just in case I need to return it or complain about the quality.

I've don't $$ transfer thru a bank, but that's email transfer. I'm a bit paranoid about sending $$ untraceable

Yeah, normally I would think so, too. But, the company's pretty reputable, and they already sent me the goods (nothing kinky, btw :) ). If the amount owing were larger, I wouldn't be making such a fuss about paying $45 to wire the funds (through a bank). But, it's for 62 euros, which makes paying the wiring fee outrageous.

And, looks like Western Union can't wire to a company name (has to be a person), so I'm stuck with wiring the funds at a bank. So, archaic.

And, I know: first world problems.

I look at it as $45 peace of mind. I've had I do that in the past. Now I have a good friend in Germany and I just PayPal him when I want euro car parts and he sends it over.

It's very likely that the company has a Deutschbank account since it's in Germany. If you're with Scotiabank, it's easier because they have an international partnership and you might also get better rates that way
