Chain too tight: what damage if I ride bike?

on this topic does anybody else have trouble adjusting on a sssa? The c-spanner tool that came with my triumph is a pos and the adjusting hub is so stuff that I had to use a mallet and screwdriver to adjust.

Have you tried the old standby WD-40?

I had no problems on my VFR.

Just get the proper sized socket and use a breaker bar / ratchet.

Occasionally. I just ground a notch into an old flat head screw driver, so it engages more of the adjusting cam and doesn't mess up the teeth... then tap with hammer.
