Ceramic coating a helmet and visor

Traditionally, I've treated my new helmets and visors with Rejex to keep the bugs from sticking. I'm thinking of making the switch to ceramic coating, but don't know much about and if I go down the rabbit hole of learning, I'll never get to use my new helmet this season. Anyone know a person or place that can properly ceramic coat a helmet for a reasonable price?

I've done cars, and my bike with Avalon King ceramic coating.
If you've ever applied wax to a car/bike, you'll be fine DIY.

I would not likely do that sort of coating on a helmet unless I checked first with the manufacturers of the helmets and the coating maker to see if there might be a chemical reaction or interaction between the helmet material and the coating, which might weaken the strength of the helmet shell.
I seem to remember (long, long ago) of some M/C safety helmets supplied to a police force which, when painted with the police marking paint, "crazed" after painting.

I suspect every helmet manufacturer will say virgin surface only and water with a bit of soap at most. They haven't tested products on their helmet and sure aren't going to assume liability. Every helmet I have seen said no paint, no stickers, no harsh cleaners, no anything. I would not advocate using harsh chemicals on a helmet but personally, I wouldn't be too concerned about products that are safe on my hands and generally used on painted surfaces.

Does ceramic coating alter the optical clarity of the visor? Even minor distortions or imperfections in your direct field of vision can be distracting enough to affect your riding, especially over long distances/time in the saddle.

Good points. I can sadly say that Rejex didn't seem to affect the structural integrity of my HJC's visor or carbon shell when crash tested. My new helmet also has a carbon shell, so hopefully the coating will say if it's compatible with that at least.

I've always treated visors as a wear item. Depending on what kind of riding you do (dirt, bugs vs street) , I find that I go through 2-3 visors over the lifetime of a helmet.

I guess if it's an expensive iridium photochromic visor it might be worth it to put some kind of protective coating.

The main reason for coating the visor is to make bugs and rain bead off, and Rejex worked great for that. I had tried Rain-X before, but it affected the clarity (could have been misapplication on my part).
