central air prices?

How old? If it was me, anything close to 15 years old (when it requires major repair) and I replace it, 8 years old, repair, in between sliding scale (i.e. I am not paying for a new compressor on a 12 year old unit.)

I've had the house for 10 years, not how long it was dead before then and not sure when it was installed. besides the condensor coils bursting I don't know if there's anything else wrong with it, i suspect with the amount of sitting it's done it's scrap metal

if it sat for 10+ yrs dont waste a dime on it,

So your living without central air? oyvey, good for you I guess.

there only a week per year where i think it would be nice to have.

That's why I will never get central air. Down here it's more than a week, but still.

Also walking out of an airconditioned house and adjusting your life around a/c is bull. Heating? Ya, I'm all over heat in winter.

I have a window unit that i haven't plugged in for a couple years, the windows where it fits are in the main part of the house, the room where it would probably most appreciated has a sideways slider window, and it's too noisy to sleep with.
