Cars from Quebec?

Can you tell how many owners from carfax? If one owner, I wouldnt be so worried. If lots of owners, the "always garage kept" is a huge lie and I wouldnt trust anything the seller said.
I'd have to get a UVIP to check....the CARFAX has 7 'Registration issued or renewed' tags so not sure how many owners.

Have you considered a 90-96 Nissan 300zx TT? This car is really sweet and trust me, you actually get ladies looking back, not just dudes at gas station. It still somehow looks amazing for a 30 year old car. Targa tops are great! You can get classic insurance for it too.

I have not. A few friends had those and said they're awesome...when they work! I need something a bit more modern.

I'm actually toying in b/w the 1-series or the 228/235.

not sure I'd want to drive it across Canada
but this is a neat little BC sports car

A friend picked up a nice vintage 911 out of BC. Saved more than 20K (probably closer to 40) over its Ontario counterparts and it's not rusty.

I just went out to Kamloops with another friend to inspect a potential toy purchase. Same deal, more than 20K cheaper and a better product than is available in Ontario.

Didn't know there was such a price savings out this way. I'm in BC every few weeks but limited time in the metro areas unfortunately. Porsche would be a dream car...but too terrified of it. BMW is as far as I think I'd like to go for toy status.

I'm biased of course
but I'd stick to the southern interior for cars
anyone's who's driven around Van will understand

I get the Porsche fear
an antique 911 would be a dream car
but could also be a huge money pit

At one time, not sure it is still the case, stolen cars were getting laundered via Quebec registered VINs. Friend's mother bought a "sweet deal" used Honda Accord back about 15 years ago (last "registered" in QC), had it for six months and then the police showed up and took it away. No recourse as the seller was no where to be found, she was out the cash.

Car was stolen and sold by what turned out to be a curb sider. Car was painted (and the paint job colour change was well done!) and VIN was changed to match a car that was registered in Quebec. So Carfax etc. came back clean when it was checked at purchase. Hopefully the loop holes have been closed, just use caution and if the deal is too good to be true, it likely is.

There's small little beauty that's actually near where I stay.

BMWZ4i | Cars & Trucks | Terrace | Kijiji

It’s a hard life out in Terrace. When Prince Rupert or Prince George are your next biggest towns and not much for paved roads. I’d check the suspension closely and maintenance records. Do they service it themselves or where does one go for recall or TSBs etc.?

You can find similar toys in this price range in Ontario and likely in the same or better condition.

My wife saw one and mentioned to me it must be an expensive car. I pulled up a host of listings in the $10k range.

Told her it would be a nice drive (faster and smoother) but, won’t get noticed like our yellow MGB.

We took the MGB out for an evening drive through Niagara on-the-Lake. Great therapy and quality time with the missus.

MGB is an acquired taste. It’s not fast, it doesn’t handle anything close to a modern car. But, it does have an appeal. Don’t think I’ll sell mine anytime soon. Thought the honeymoon would wear off but, still brings smiles for the miles. But, it’s not a cross country touring machine. Heading to Watkins Glen for the vintage races next month with some other vintage Brit cars. Jag E types mostly.

I know it’s not what the OP is looking for but, that is priced right and looks to be well kept. Think they painted the bumpers and as long as it was a quality job, should continue to look good.

It has the OD which is nice on the highway. Most don’t have AC and a dark car in the sun and not moving makes for some discomfort.

If I was in the market for the MGB.........this would on my list.......lol

I’m thinking about a FI Bonnie to park next to the MGB and keep the Brit theme going.

that sucks
wonder how the cops found the car?
someone must have gotten rolled up and started blabbing?

Isn't the trunk space on z4's brutal? Yes sports car etc, but ay carumba.

135is all day
Yes I'm leaning towards the 1 or 2 series....still up in the air but the good thing is until I finish in BC there's no need for a car technically. Of course the Miata seems to always be the answer to these questions.

Thanks all for the responses, really appreciate it. I'm trying to keep to a small budget as I'd like to get this toy, and then some cheapo commuter for winter beating and daily duties. This will be my toy. I remember there was a thread asking similarly for a toy but can't find it...

Have you asked the owner about the Quebec thing? I took a look at the Carfax, it's odd. It's like the car has been in Ontario since 2013 but a registration gets renewed here and Quebec almost every year? I've looked at a lot of Carfax reports but haven't seen that before. I'd ask some questions before forgetting this car completely. There is errors on Carfax reports sometimes.

I emailed him but haven't heard back yet. Waiting for a response and can take it from there.
